Ministry of Public Administration is formally competent for harmonization and agreements with non-governmental organisations. Priority tasks in the field of NGO cooperation are:

• harmonization and adoption of Agreement on cooperation of non-governmental organisations and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia, that is supposed to contribute to better and more efficient cooperation of both partners and reestablishment of better conditions for NGO activities;
• harmonization of implementation of the Governmental Strategy for cooperation with NGO;
• implementation of measures for ensuring the cooperation of interested publics throughout the adoption of regulation and strategic documents. 

For efficient task implementation the Government of the Republic of Slovenia appointed Standing intraministerial working body for harmonization of open questions in the field of cooperation between Government and NGOs.
